Early Learning

We deliver the early years foundation stage (EYFS)

The EYFS is how the Government and early years professionals. Describe the time in your child's life

between birth and age 5.

This is a very important stage as it helps your childcare ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and success.

At our fun club afternoon nursery we offer children happy, active, exciting and fun experiences which supports their development care and learning needs.

The EYFS areas of learning are:

  • communication and language

  • physical development

  • personal, social and emotional development

  • literacy

  • mathematics

  • understanding the world

  • expressive arts and design

As well as delivering the EYFS we also work in partnership with the school and parents to support the children in their individual, unique journey to being school ready

Play

Our environment plan and resources are based on our core books to promote learning through play

We use books in all of our various play and learning environments.

We use an online learning journal called Tapestry. We use Tapestry to share photos and record observations of your child’s learning with you. When you are registered with us you will receive a login to access your child’s secure tapestry account. There is an app for the journal which can be downloaded to your phone or you can access it on your computer. You will also have the opportunity to add photos and information to the account. At the end of the year your child’s tapestry journal can be downloaded and kept is a lovely keepsake of your child’s early year education.

During the fun club nursery sessions we offer a mixture of staff led and child led learning opportunities.

Adult led group work is good practice for when the children go to reception class.
